The Interim Secretariat of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), composed of the European University Association, Science Europe, and the European Commission, will organise a round table on reforming research assessment on 1 December 2022, from 17:00 to 18:30 CET. The round table will be an in-person event, organised in Brussels.
The aim of the round table is to present the outcomes of the CoARA Constitutive Assembly to the wider public.
The Constitutive Assembly of the CoARA takes place on 1 December 2022. Participation to this Assembly is restricted to organisations that will have signed the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment by 17 November 2022, and whose CoARA membership will be confirmed by the time of the Constitutive Assembly. During the Constitutive Assembly, the governance documents of the Coalition will formally be adopted, the Steering Board, including Chair and Vice-Chairs will be elected, the Secretariat will be appointed, and the preliminary work plan and budget of the Coalition will be endorsed.
Following the Constitutive Assembly, the round table will offer the opportunity for all interested stakeholders, media, as well as the general public, to hear about its outcomes. As CoARA operations will be guided by principles including openness, collaboration and mutual support and information sharing beyond the Coalition, this event will promote the wide dissemination of the first CoARA activities and outcomes planned, so that these can inspire other organisations to join.
Registration and detailed agenda for the round table will be published soon on this website. Participation to the round table will be open to anyone interested, and will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis, taking into account the venue’s maximum capacity.
